Two Held for Murder of Teacher Couple During Robbery in UP’s Sultanpur

Two men have been arrested for the murder of a teacher couple during a robbery at a school in Sultanpur district. One of the accused worked with the victims in their privately run school.
Discovery of Victims
The bodies of the couple were found on the school premises a few days ago, prompting a police investigation into the double murder case.
Details of the Accused
The suspects are Rakesh Kumar Yadav, 36, a school bus driver-cum-computer teacher, and his relative Ashish Yadav alias Dabbu Yadav, 26. Both allegedly planned the robbery at Manraji Educational Institute in Kumbhi Dadiya village, according to Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal.
Sequence of the Crime
On September 28, the two entered the school late at night to steal money. Rakesh was opening a locker when teacher Vinita spotted them and raised an alarm. Rakesh attacked Vinita with a spade, and her husband Mukesh, also a teacher, tried to escape.
The accused chased Mukesh and attacked him with an axe before fleeing with cash, Vinita’s mobile phone, and her Aadhaar card.
Victims and Evidence
The bodies of Mukesh, 53, and Vinita, 47, who lived on the school premises, were recovered on September 29. Mukesh had established the school in 2002.
Police recovered ₹18,220 from Rakesh and ₹16,740 from Ashish along with Vinita’s Aadhaar card. They also recovered the spade and axe used in the crime, as well as bloodstained clothes.
Rakesh reportedly used Vinita’s mobile phone for transactions before discarding it in a well.
Arrest and Investigation
The accused were arrested near a canal bridge after an investigation involving the Special Operations Group, surveillance, and forensic teams.
The investigation is ongoing, and a chargesheet will be filed after the legal process is completed.
